Help and information about MSTAHRS

MSTAHRS is designed to offer users flexibility, allowing them to produce statistical data using simple to very complex queries. Below is an example on how to set up a basic query.

• Under the heading Step One, select a row variable. A default value of year is already selected in most forms.
• Immediately under Step One, select a column variable in Step Two. In most forms, a default value of race is selected.
• Using various option boxes immediately below the Row and Column groups, select criteria for sub queries such as Sex, Ethnicity, Race, and Age Group.
• At the bottom of the form is a selection area for type of table output.
• Press the Submit button at the bottom of the form to send the query.

Data security/integrity is a very important consideration in MSTAHRS. No names or individual identification numbers are retrievable from MSTAHRS. You will note cells containing values less than 5 events will be suppressed with an asterisk (*). Rates with less than 20 events are highlighted because of the instability and unreliability of these values.
